Heather Steacy, recipient of the 2010 Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Award’s Senior Female Athlete is continuing her amazing journey in Athletics and shows no signs of slowing down. She competed very well in June at Nationals in Calgary and had great marks, especially at this stage of the season. Heather is heading to the Summer Universiades (FISU) in Shenzhen, China at the beginning of August and joining her brother, Jim, in Daegu, Korea later in August for the World Championships. At the end of October Heather will be competing in the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Having missed the entire 2010 year due to two serious injuries and two surgeries, 2008 Olympian Jim Steacy is showing how resilient and dedicated to his sport he is. His progress has been nothing short of remarkable and has exceeded all expectations; Jim is considered the top-ranked Canadian hammer throw specialist. Jim recently competed at Nationals and as with his sister, Heather, had great marks, especially at this point in the season. Jim’s summer will be busy as he prepares to compete in Daegu, Korea in late August for the World Championships.
